MY STORY

“Embracing and loving your uniqueness” Tonia MIllson

Originally from Cyprus, I arrived in the United Kingdom when I was 17 years old with the intention of studying and returning to my birthplace. However, life had other plans for me! I never did return, except for vacation, and the UK became my adopted motherland.

Following my university studies firstly in Business Management and then in Human Resource Management, I started my working life in the Human Resources profession, in various industries, working my way from the bottom up to my more recent role of Director.

During the long span of 40+ years, I worked through all areas of People Management, from change management and company culture change, to one to one/team Leadership coaching and mentoring and running various training workshops with up to 200 people. During this time, I also spent 10 years in the Education sector as Chairman of the Governing Body of a Further Education College.

Just over 25 years ago, I qualified as a Psychotherapist and set up my own private practice. During this time, I worked in both worlds, transferring knowledge and skills between the two. In my opinion, these were complementary to each other and provided me with an opportunity of expanding and enriching my own understanding of human nature.

I am a member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

My passion, from an early age, is the notion that all human beings are of equal value, whatever their gender, background, belief systems and educational background. I believe that we should all embrace and celebrate each other’s uniqueness and that each one of us should feel empowered to speak our truth and to voice our opinions. It is my strong belief that diversity and individual difference adds to creativity and innovation in our lives – bringing about peace and harmony to ourselves and others.

It is with this passion and respect for others that I am continuing to dedicate my life in helping and supporting others find their personal freedom and empowerment.
